  Introduction

"Twenty years ago the Ethernet computer local area network (LAN) was invented in a Xerox laboratory and later supported by the Intel and Digital equipment Corporation, Then in the mid 1980's. The institute of Electrical and Electronic (IEEE) standardized the LAN known as IEEE 802.3" Thus was born 10Base-2 'Thin Ethernet'.

It is a fast moving industry where standards just will not stand still. Category 5 (10/100Base-T) cabling has been the defacto standard for the last few years but with Gigabit (1000Base-T) nearing full ratification everyone must start to look at the network cabling they're specifying.

The salmon cabling team will assist you in choosing the right cabling for your data/telecommunication needs, we have the ability to design and recommend the best system to fit your current and future needs. Every prospective customer site is completely surveyed by a member of our technical staff. If your company is considering implementing or upgrading your premise cable infrastructure give Salmon Business Solutions a call for a no obligation consultation on 01246 293011
